Singing 'Hallelujah' at Macy's & Other Random Acts of Culture

This is better than fighting over a Black Friday bargain. Recently, 650 singers burst into Handel's Hallelujah Chorus in a middle of a Macy's department store in Philadelphia. Get ready. The shock and joy campaign may be coming to a city near you.

The Macy's performance was one of 1,000 Random Acts of Culture that the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation will be funding for the next three years. They want to put classical music in front of the public, outside of performance halls. See the Phili performance below, from the Opera Company of Philadelphia.
